I have been watching the hosting companies from 2009 to 2010. All I can do here is tell you by my experience of which web hosting company is good and why. So here goes, the top 10 web hosting companies in Malaysia for 2010 along with the talks and discussions about them.
Good and popular names that come to mind:
Â
Before I begin, please note that every company has their ups and downs, there is no perfect web hosting company. However, these companies are the top companies if you ask me.
Â
ServerFreak has been the number one on this website for awhile. I have a tracker to check my website uptime (siteuptime.com), and my website is down only once or twice a year usually. This of course is very normal and acceptable. Their service is always good too. They reply fast, they are professional, etc, etc.
Â
Exabytes is a very popular company, but I think this is only because of their agressive marketing team. Sadly, there has been talks over the past years that their service isn't so good. Maybe their support team can't catch up with their marketing team. However, looking at how fast Exabytes is growing, I will say that Exabytes has done quite well (it is not easy to grow fast and strong at the same time). I myself use their service, and I am very satisfied with them. But I repeat once more, Exabytes has gottent a lot of complaints over the years. The only reason I put them on the good list is because they have more customers (which also means they will get more complaints when one problem arises).
Â
Shinjiru is another good name in the web hosting market. I do not use their service. However, people have been talking about this company as being professional and very reliable. When I searched the net for more info though, there have been a number of disasters regarding Shinjiru. The good thing is there aren't too many disasters with Shinjiru. Overall, they are quite reliable and have good support. They cater the higher-end market with products like reseller hosting and dedicated servers.
Â
IP Server One is another good website host. This is the company that has been hosting lowyat.net, the popular Malaysian forum. Lowyat.net has went down with problems a few times over the years for me (and I use it quite frequently), so this company can be said as quite reliable. Nevertheless, I rarely hear complaints against this company, and I hear good things about them.

Malaysia's worst web hosting providers 2010
Â
This year I will make a list of this so you guys out there will know who to avoid :)
BaitHost is our top contender! In lowyat.net alone, BaitHost has at least 4 threads of complaints, each having up to 500+ replies too. Needless to say, this is the best company to... avoid. They have claimed to be under a new management. However, a new management doesn't mean a new attitude. They have dissapointed customers yet again.
Â
TNN Host is another web hosting company that is not doing so well. There have been some complaints about them. For more information, look here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1215386 .However, I have spoken the the owner of TNN, and I found out that he intends to improve the business further. So, anyone with reviews on TNN please post them here so we can all know.
Â
There are also hosting companies that sell overly cheap, thus reducing their service quality. Please try to avoid such things, as you will surely regret in the future.
That ends it for my review. I hope all of you benefit from this, and also, feel free to add your comments below.

The comment below is wrong. I am hosted on serverfreak because I think it is the best, and other people think it is the best based on the votes. you can check it out for yourself.
obviously, you are not very smart in accusing. please, I dare you to prove that I am working for Serverfreak. I can easily prove that I am not working for them, nor have I been paid to make this website.
