Types of advertisements
First we have to choose a good advertising scheme that fits your needs. Below are some of the payment schemes:
Pay Per Impression: You are paid
according to the number of times the advertiser’s banner is displayed on your
site. If your site attracts a lot of visitors, you have the possibility of
earning more.
Pay Per Click: You are only paid when visitors click the advertiser’s banner on
your site. You will probably have better results if the banners you select suit
the target consumer of your site.
Pay Per Sale or Lead: You only earn if your visitors click through the banner
on your site and either purchase an item from the advertiser or take some other
action such as sign up for a service they are offering. This is like the pay
per click in that you will probably get better results if you choose
advertising banners to target the consumer of your site.
You get paid when you collect enough money. For some advertising affiliates you will have to wait
until you get 25 USD, while some others like Google Adsense wait until you get 100 USD. Most
programs will either send you a check or directly deposit into your bank
account.
Advertisement Targeting
If you already tried advertising but it did not work well because not many
people are clicking on it, there are a few reasons. People only want to click
if they are interested. So how do you take advantage of this? You put advertisements
that are relevant. But that’s not all.
Finding people to click on your advertisements
To get people to click on your advertisements, you need people to visit your
site. But how ? The simplest answer is to advertise your site. More new
visitors will get you more returning visitors. And the more visits you get, the
more clicks you get.
Good website content
Of course, to get more returning visitors and new visitors as well, we need to
have good website content. If your website has a lot of good articles about
computers, and if I like to know more about computers, then I will definitely
return to your site for more. And the more I come, the more advertisements I
see, so I am therefore more likely to click on one of your advertisements.
